My Super Duper "Lomantic" Love Story
It’s that time of year again!! Yup!
It’s my birthday! Okay, I’m just kidding.
It’s Valentine’s Day coming round
the corner! In Singapore, you know what this means?
It means, time to read extremely
juicy and entertaining Valentine’s Day stories on STOMP! Seriously, have
ya’ll read some of the stories? They are so, so… I don’t even know the word for
it… Spectacular? (Or maybe absurd?) If I could, I would totally send in my love
story to STOMP, but it wouldn’t match up to all the fairytales written by other
couples!
So… Just to make myself feel
better, I decided to pen down my own love story…
“Me and Alvin met like any other
couple - in a club. I’m not much of a clubber, I only go on ladies night, every
week, cause you know, it’s free. So there I was, with a few of my friends, they
were getting rowdy as usual. Unlike me, I don’t drink a lot. I just drink if
the alcohol is free, cause you know, it’s free.
So, I was standing around, dancing
a little, drinking a little. And erm, I saw this kinda tall figure with a whole
bunch of other people. I took a few steps forward to take a good look at him.
And I found out that he was really cute, like a chipmunk. It really appealed to
me. I was thinking whether I should talk to him, but after awhile, I
decided that I shouldn’t. Cause I’m really shy and I’m not the kind to make the
first move. So I just stared at him from afar, hoping that he would notice me
and come talk to me.
After awhile, it looked like he was
chatting another girl up, so I got so sad and flustered that I went to the
toilet to cry. A fellow girl friend saw me, so she followed me to make sure I
was okay. She asked me what I was crying about, so I told her it was cause the
guy I didn't know, but thought was cute, was talking to another girl instead of
me. She was so mad, she pulled me out of the toilet to see who this fella was.
I pointed out to her the tall figure, and she walked over there, grabbed him by
the collar, and dragged him to me. I was too shy and scared to do anything
about it, but she yelled at him in hokkien for me, telling him that because of
him, I cried in the toilet.
He took a look at me and took pity
on me. He was so sweet - he gave me tissues and offered me a drink, and after awhile we started to
talk. I think we hit it off quite well cause he even offered to send me
home later on!
Hours later, he added me on
Facebook. I was so happy! I went to stalk his profile, only to realize that he
loved playing Facebook games and had tons of girls always posting things on his
wall. I was quite discouraged, but decided to not lose hope. So I
decided to send him requests to play all sorts of FB games. Through these
games, we started talking.
A few weeks later, we went on
our first date. I will never forget what he wore - a checkered polo tee
with pants and slippers. I thought the sight of him was breath-taking.
Anyways, that day, we held hands and had our first kiss at the parking
lot near the green rubbish bin when he sent me home.
At first, my parents didn't really
approve of us cause they are very strict, but I always snuck out to see Alvin
so we had enough time to spend together. I also always stayed over at his place
to seek solace from my nagging parents. A year later, my parents realized that
we were still going strong and our love for each other was true, so they
approved.
It's been 2 years now, and I would
say we're doing well. We've made major sacrifices for each other. Like, no longer does he flirt with other girls on FB, and we no
longer club unless we're with each other. Alvin is very sweet. He always tells
me he loves me. He always gives in to me and buys me expensive presents and
takes me out to eat good food. Whenever we quarrel, he always makes sure I'm
okay by getting me gifts to make me feel loved. He knows that I love to eat
sashimi so he brings me out to eat sashimi all the time. I really like it
because he pays, so it's free. I love him so so much, I need to tell
him:
Baby, you and I are for
forever.
Hand in hand, we will stand.
Heart to heart, we won't
part."
So there you go, for all you people
who've wondered how me and Alvin met, now you know!
Okay okay! I kid. Alvin and I are far from what I just described to you. I don't think there's any element of truth to my wonderful creation actually, since it was a looovely parody of some pretty hilarious Valentines Day stories on STOMP. Haha! I've personally never stepped into a club, while Alvin does not dress up in checkered polo tees, pants and slippers! (HAHA.) Our love story is definitely more genuine and heartfelt, so I would believe. :) I just hope
you were entertained by my colourful story, cause I know I sure was! <3
